FROM FRICTIE TO FLOW …

Multidisciplinary artist Miriam Slaats faced a conflict situation that went deep for her. The process of having to let go had a major impact on her life and work.

To get through this period, Slaats sought out nature. The long daily walks and the connection with “the circle of life” helped her feel the essential spirit again.

During her walks, she distanced herself from the old context and connected with the new: the beauty and expressiveness of Mother Earth. From this source, “painted” words emerged and Slaats photographed the grandeur of nature.

In an inspired collaboration with designer Giselle Segura Gelink, the elements: word, image and form, flowed together to form an ‘art bible’ entitled PASO A PASO [step by step].
