Each work captures a moment before form becomes fixed.

SLAATS works at the point where inner tension takes shape. What begins as something intangible—pressure, movement, emotion—emerges as material presence. Her monumental, fluid forms carry a memory of raw matter: liquid, shifting, and charged with origin.

Working between painting, sculpture, and conceptual practice, she develops forms that oscillate between control and surrender. Material bends, gathers, or yields, transforming into structures that feel both spontaneous and inevitable.

Her work draws on the physicality of industrial processes while embracing the unpredictability of chance. What appears is not a fixed object, but a moment of equilibrium—where forces meet, resist, and temporarily hold.

Here, form does not resolve into permanence, but remains in transition.

In that moment, the work is complete, yet still in motion.
